Where can I see the finished product? I went to the museum but they are not showing current works, or at least I cannot find them. Can you DM me a photo and price?
Secondly, as an art major and art collector, I have to say, those hydrangeas are gorgeous! Well done Brad! I would classify it as good enough to submit to the Oil Painters of America and/or the American Impressionist Society. Go for it Brad! I bet you would get at least honorable mention.
He needs to and he needs to submit this painting. every artist i have had this feeling about and collected has made it big. I know exceptional art but I would love to see a closeup. Look up Scott Ruthven Fine Art. I started collecting him years ago and bought as many as I could. He was featured as Best of the Best in Oil Painters of America Magazine 2 years ago. tell him to go for it but send in an exceptional piece.
Please do! Keep me posted! So exciting when I stumble across real talent. I can’t wait to see what happens! Any questions you have about submissions, etc., Scott knows it all. Goodnight guys! Talk soon! And I cannot wait to see his next painting! Lots of love and safe travels, Laney
That is one dang good painting. I think maybe you have to be a painter to understand how hard it would be to paint those white hydrangeas in the sun! And love the poem too especially the "highest balcony" image.
At least - I assume so, and that your Brother is alive and well.
It's really interesting thought - Poet as Clown. So is the line "I grew out of my extroversion and onto the page." I had never quite thought of it that way, but as a child I was far far more outgoing than I am now. My ideal social gathering is a size of 2, with Meg as my friend. At a pinch I can manage another 3 or 4, and anything more than a group of 10 makes me want to run away.
As a child though, I was not so reserved - though I did always enjoy being on my own.
Have you done public Poetry readings? I haven't done any for at least 23 years - but when I did, it surprised me that I could do it at all. Maybe I should try clown face paint... :)
When I was younger I wanted to be a novelist. I never really wanted to be anything else. I finally realized when I was in college that I do not have a knack for writing fiction. But I'm still a writer. I just write poetry and nonfiction essays.

Thank you so much!! That is such a high compliment!!! He’s been wanting to submit to those places so maybe this will be the one!

Wow thanks so much!!! We know Scott’s work—he’s great!! We’ll let you know if Brad submits this one somewhere and what happens! 👏
I just saw where I said I went to the museum. I should have said “online”
