I love the way you incorporate the sale of your paintings into each piece. Visually very appealing! I just subscribed and look forward to reading! Laney from Laney's Words Poetry
Thank you so much, Laney! That's such great feedback!!! We're slowly figuring out how to share and organize our work here. Substack has been such a great fit for sharing my writing and Brad's paintings!
I really like how you are doing it. It’s reminds me of the magazine Our State. We have that in North Carolina and the layout is very effective. Clean looking and your publication reminds me of that so I subscribed! I am also figuring out how to combine my poetry with artwork. I have some ideas but need to work it out on canvas or paper whichever way I go. I am a Studio Art/Art History Major. I attended Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. My day job is Interior Designer. It’s nice meeting you and thank you for your nice note! I really appreciate it and I can’t wait to see where you go next! Safe travels! Laney
Thank you so much, Laney!!! That means so much, I really want the layout to be pleasant and cohesive so that is so good to hear! I'll have to check out Our State. And I'm so excited to see what you share! The nice thing about Substack is that you can start simply and add more to each post. I've gotten better at incorporating links and images. That's so great!! Brad and I both have a secret dream of going back for our PhDs in art history. :) (He studied painting at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and I got my MFA in poetry at Miami University.) We have really good friends in NC and love it out there! Hope you're having a great summer!
Wow you both are so talented! I live in Charlote. I went to college at Hollins University in Roanoke, Va. Then studied in Italy through Syracuse University at their Florence campus. You will be shocked when I tell you the year I graduated…1986. I can’t believe so much time has gone by. I am 61 years old but my heart and mind are still in my twenties. So glad to meet you and if you don’t mind I may use you to critiique any artwork I come up with.

Maine is one of the more beautiful places on this spinning globe...
I just walked that path to the island a month ago - that's so fun!
What wonderful memories. The Pink Flamingo Festival sounds fun.
