Oh, Alex. So lovely and profound. The grief goes on forever, but so does the warmth and loving hug of the time spent with those who were and are, everything to us. ❤️

Well, Alex, that doorway is a lovely physical metaphor to have in your life, every day. Two beautiful photographs - before and after.

Life is a constant movement through different doorways - each one a choice. It is wonderful to have a partner who moves in tune with you - each easing the other's transition from one moment to the next, one day to another.

Best Wishes - Dave :)

"And I surely couldn’t have imagined how alive her love remains after her death, how much she is a part of our everyday, her memory so precious and present with me and those who love me."

I lost my Dad last year, also far too young, and this sentence resonated with me so much. His love almost feels more present in my life now than it did when he was still alive (not that there was ever any shortage of it). In the weeks after his death I felt his presence with me as if he were just over my shoulder. It's a blessing and a gift how love lives on even when the person is longer here to express it.

Thank you so much for reading and for your thoughtfulness. I’m so so sorry you lost your dad, but so glad you too get to experience the beauty of a loving presence that remains after death. I know what you mean! It’s been a joyful surprise even in the all grief.
